Margene Roark Higham, Conner Roark Raber, and Angela Roark Jones Brief Bio
Mattie Margene was born on January 15, 1927, in Birchwood, TN, to Mattie Jackson White (1890-1952) and Franklin Asberry “Berry” Roark (1886-1974). Margene’s grandparents were Virginia Ann Conner (1852-1934) and William Marion Roark (1845-1923). Her paternal great grandparents were Juda Ann Carr (1813-1883) and Joseph Roark (1813-1876), and her maternal great grandparents were Martha Palmer (1815-1890) and Maximillian Haney Conner (1806-1893).
In 1946, Margene married Harold Higham, and they had three children, Diane Higham Bivinetto Siegal, Greg Higham, and Jeff Higham. Margene has several grandchildren and lives in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
In 1949, Conner Elaine Roark Raber was born to Christine Lowery and Madison Conner Roark (son of Mattie White and Franklin A. Roark). She married Danny Raber, and they have two children: Nicole and Jeff, and three grandchildren. Conner and Danny are retired and live in Avon, IN.
In 1957, Angela Faye Roark Jones was born to Christine Lowery and Madison Conner Roark (son of Mattie White and Franklin A. Roark). She married Rick, and they have three children: D.J., Ashley, and Conner. Angela and Rick have several grandchildren, and they live in Kirklin, IN.
Earlier this year, Conner and Angela flew to California. During the visit, Conner played the piano while Margene and Angela sang. Diane videotaped it, and they shared it with the R-CA for use during the 2020 Virtual Reunion
