In case you missed the 2023 Reunion (held September 29 – October 1, 2023), or you would like to view a part of it again, above are a few Reunion highlights along with some links:
About 50 cousins from XXX states around the U.S. signed in
(AL, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, KS, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, UT, WA, and WV).
A number of others visited via Zoom to the Reunion.
XXX family members were first time reunion attendees. We welcome them and hope they plan to return this year!
Other highlights include:
- The Meet and Greet Sessions included What Is the R-CA, and Meet Your: Ancestors, 2020 Board of Directors, Past Presidents, Past John J. Roark Distinguished Award Winners, Cousins, Family Reporters, and 2021 President David Johnston.
- Many family members submitted beautiful songs for the Sunday Worship Service, including: Dallas Roark on the guitar and singing “I’ll Sing a New Song”, Dan Roark on the guitar sings “This Little Light of Mine”, and “Walking to Jerusalem”, and John A. Roark sings “People Need the Lord”, and John A. Roark and his Quartet, Debbie & Jessica Johnson sing “The Old Rugged Cross” and a family sing-a-long with Margene Higham, Angela Jones and Conner Raber.
- There were many family heirlooms submitted for display.
- To commemorate the 75th anniversary of WWII, we paid tribute to Roark and Conner WWII Veterans.
- Books were available for sale and we distributed copies of the Heritage Trail Book.
- There was a Kid’s Room which included a Coloring Book and games.
- There was a Bonus Learning Center and information on GeoNames.
- During the Closing Ceremonies, Terry L. Roark, 2020 President, provided five take home messages for Virtual Reunion attendees.
- There was also a grand finale video produced.
- Add: WWII Veterans and Nonagenarians
The Board of Directors extends its appreciation to all who contributed to and participated in the Virtual Reunion.
