John J. Roark Honored for
Outstanding Writing
John J. Roak received an award at the Texas State Genealogical Society 42nd Annual Awards Banquet in Galveston, Texas on November 1, 2002. He received the 2002 Writing Award for the Most Outstanding Entry for “Joseph Roark, His Life and Times.”
It is “a great combination of genealogy, family history, and social history. Its facts are well documented, and in the opinion of not just myself but of the entire committee, it is a very readable book.”
