Worship Service

One of the  requirements that Laura Roark Shropshire laid out in 1959, for the first Roark-Conner reunion, was that the event be, “a religious experience.” During the reunions that followed family members worshipped together at the Salem Baptist Church site and then visited the Joseph Roark Homestead in honor of Roark and Conner ancestors.. Singing was, “a full requirement,” and several songs were sung during the worship service. The following lists the speakers during the worship services from 2001-2019. We will continue to add information on prior years as it is available. 

The last Worship Service held at the Salem Church site was in 2016. Since then, the Worship Service has been held at other locations as part of the R-CA Reunion Program. Family members are encourage to visit the Church site and the Joseph Roark Homestead over the reunion weekend on their free time.
