What is the R-CA DVD Library?
If you take a few minutes to view one of the  R-CA DVDs that have been recorded since 1995, largely by Chuck Gross, you will instantly realize its value. These DVDs have been produced for the R-CA to document the interviews and presentations done by volunteer members of this Association.

In the DVD, Why Did It All Get Started, Terry L. Roark provides an interesting description about early Reunions 1958-1972, with lots of photos and anecdotes.

In the DVD recorded in 2015, Early History of the Conner Family, Conner Runyan provides many captivating stories  of the Conner family going back to Maximilian and Martha Conner.

In 2006, John J. Roark brought his wealth of research to the R-CA family when he delivered a presentation on Permelia B. Conner (12th of 18 children of Martha and Maximilian Conner) and John Wesley Roark (the 5th of 6 surviving children of Joseph and Judith Carr).

On October 9, 2000, a State Historical Marker was unveiled and dedicated marking the site of the James Roark Family Massacre in the Baptist Valley area of Tazewell County, VA. You can view a short video clip of the dedication ceremony at R-CA Sites > Historical Markers > Roark’s Gap Incident.

Finally, in the interview with Reba Shropshire Wilson in 1995,  she explains how her mother’s love of family history and her desire to have the family get-together started the Reunions in 1959. You can view a short video clip of the Interview with Reba by going to Reunions > Remember When.

Please note, the quality on the original DVDs is better than the video clips.
The clips are provided for examples.

How can you view the DVD Library and/or order a DVD?

Interested in giving a presentation?

From the video clips, you can see the value in having this information recorded and preserved for future generations is incalculable. Hopefully, this article and the clips will encourage you to interview your parents and grandparents and to share the interviews to help preserve them for future generations.

Your interviews can be added to the  R-CA DVD Library to help ensure their sharing and preservation. Or you may consider developing a presentation on some of your ancestors for an upcoming reunion. The R-CA is always looking for interesting presentations on our ancestors. The Reunion attendees come to the reunions to learn and really enjoy hearing about the lives of their ancestors.
