Originally known as Dixon Spring or Hutcheson Spring, Birchwood had established its identity in the early 1850s. On September 4, 1854, a post office was established at Bichwood, and it became the official address of Joseph Roark’s homestead.

Managed by a Board of Directors, the R-CA maintains cemeteries, publishes Newsletters, updates this website, preserves family history, and coordinates the annual family reunions
