A.D. Moon, 83, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009.
He was born on March 11, 1926, to Austin and Stella Ford Moon who preceded him in death along with his son James “Bo” Moon’ sister, Rozen Keel.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Hill City Lodge 603 F&AM, Chattanooga, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeur , Warehousemen and Helpers of America.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Partin Moon; son, Bob (Rosa) Moon; daughter, Debbie Moon Campbell and companion, Cork Harris; grandchildren, Dr. Collis Campbell, Bobby Moon Erin (Jameson) Fults, Jaime Willoughby and Chandler Moon “Pa’s lil farmer”; great-grandson, Dakota Moon.
He will be sadly missed and the world will be a lesser place without him.
Funeral services WERE at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Riley Anderson and Brother John Potts officiating.

Barbara Birge Lane, age 76, of Philadelphia, TN passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home in Philadelphia, TN.
Preceded in death by her parents Claude T. and Lillie Elizabeth BiMember of the Sweetwater Church of Christ.
Survived by: Husband of 57 years: Terry V. Lane of Philadelphia; Son: Joel T. Lane and wife Becky of Alexandria, VA ; Daughter: Kristi Long and husband Glenn of Easley, SC. Grandchildren: 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sisters: Claudine Wallace of Niota, TN and Sherry White and Diane Bates (Jimmy Bates) of Brush Creek,
TN; Brother: Gregory T. Birge (Cherri Lynne) of Sweetwater, TN. Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family received friends on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with the celebration of life service that followed at 1:00 P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Minister: Daniel Howell officiating. Interment to follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. A time of fellowship followed the interment at the Sweetwater Church of Christ. Clydine Gladys Hulsey of Murrayville, Ga. died Jan 19, 2018. She was born Jan 17, 1938 in Murrayville, Hall County, GA to the late Clyde Haney Conner and Dorothea Everette Conner. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Janet, and sister Mary Brookshire.
She is survived by her son, Michael and a daughter Denise (Wayne) Simmons, sisters Libby Featherstone, Edwina (Wayne) Blackburn, brothers, Joe (Vivian) Conner, George Conner, John (Nancy) Conner, Charles Conner, Donald (Jenny) Conner, Nelson (Jean) Conner, uncle Ray Conner and several grandchildren, and numerous relatives. Internment was in Yellow Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Hall County.
Thomas Eugene DuPre, Jr, age 76, of Marietta passed away March 2, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 7 at First Baptist Church Powder Springs with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. Tommy will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Powder Springs Cemetery.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Johnnie DuPre and is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Betty R. Dupre of Marietta; children: Tommy E. DuPre, III, John Paul DuPre and Johnnie Eleanor Siorpaes all of Italy; brother, John David DuPre (David Briere) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: David, Nicki, Sebastian and Ana Lisa; cousin, Judy Hamilton and aunt, Elizabeth Forehand of Thomasville, AL.
Tommy retired as a supervisor from LaFarge Cement after 37 years. He and Betty are faithful members of First Baptist Powder Springs and the Willing Workers Sunday School class. He loved to hunt for Indian and Civil War relics and was a true patriot. He proudly served in the United States Army. Tommy loved God, Country and his wife. He spoiled his loving wife, Betty, and will be greatly missed.
Raymond Dudley, husband of Marjorie Conner Dudley passed away on March 8, in St Clair, Missouri, surrounded by family. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, December 15, 1930, Raymond married Marjorie Conner in 1951.
He retired after 37 years from Union Electric and in later years was active in volunteer work. He was preceded in death by son, Donald Dudley.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; children Pat Dudley Schulte (Lee); Peggy Dudley Boyer (Jeffrey); Bill Dudley (Susie) and Susan Dudley, all from the St. Louis area. He also left 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, and many relatives and friends. He and his wife had been active Roark-Conner Association members.
Terry Lane, age 81, of Philadelphia, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at UT Medical Center. Preceded in death by his parents Hooper Layne and Muriel McSpadden, his wife Barbara L. Lane. Member of the Sweetwater Church of Christ. Survived by Son: Joel T. Lane and wife Becky Alexandria, VA. Daughter: Kristi Long and husband Glenn of Easley, SC.
Grandchildren: 6 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Sister(s): Cathy Frashier and Wanda Harold Brother(s): Doug Layne (Ann-Marie); Ben Layne (Sherry); Randy (Sue); Several Nieces and Nephews.

Jo Ann Roark Stringer entered eternal life on April 6, 2018 at the age of 80, due to complications from a stroke.
She was born to parents Thomas J. Roark and Minnie P. Roark at Huntland, Tennessee. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Demopolis, Alabama, where she graduated from Demopolis High School and later from the University of Alabama with BA and MA degrees. She was elected DAR Good Citizenship Girl and attended Alabama Girls’ State. She was an officer and winner of the 4H Club baking and sewing contests, a member of the Preserve Historic Demopolis club, a member of the Library Club, and elected “Cutie” for the yearbook.
In college she was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, a cheerleader, a member of the Theatron Drama Club, and a favorite in the yearbook.
Her career included teaching high school English, literature, and social studies in Pensacola, Florida and Metairie, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Her remarkable career achievements included serving as supervising teacher for student teachers from Tulane University and St. Mary’s Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana.
As a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Slidell, Louisiana, she taught a Sunday School class, wrote and directed annual Christmas plays, and served on the Education Committee.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Stringer, one daughter, Rebecca Ann Stringer, and one sister, Mildred Roark Buie of Columbus, Georgia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was truly a loving and lovable young lady. Always mindful and thoughtful of those with whom she lived and loved, she was revered and accepted by all who knew her. In addition to her highly recognized success in her career pursuits, she was truly a remarkable home maker and cook for her family and close friends.
Interment was in the Roark area of Pine Rest Memorial Gardens in Foley, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Presbyterian Church, 1041 9th Street, Slidell, LA 70458.
Dorothy F. (Witt) Harris, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Marine Creek Nursing Home in Ft. Worth, TX. Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Reno, Texas. Interment was held at Nelson Cemetery in Reno. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Youth Activity Fund at Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
Dorothy was born October 13, 1926 at the family home place near the Wild Onion Community in Springtown, TX. She was the ninth of 12 children born to the late, John L. Witt and Lela Ann Jennings Witt. Dorothy married Vance Lindell Harris on June 9, 1943 and they resided in Reno – Dorothy was a resident for 85 years. She had a heart for children with special needs and taught school for many years in the Rhome and Azle schools. In her 70’s, Dorothy took upwriting poetry and wrote a keepsake poem for each of her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church and was ever faithful to that church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Lindell Harris; infant daughter, Margaret Ann; brothers, Autry, Marvin, Woodrow, Clarence, and J.L; and sisters, Ruby,Nadine, Mary Ruth, and Mildred.
Dorothy was survived by two children, James L. Harris of Saginaw and Janis C. Stevenson of Briar; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Imogene Sneed of Weatherford and Georgiana Smith of Poolville; and more nieces, nephews and cousins than you can imagine.
Services were held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, Azle, Texas. Interment followed at Nelson Cemetery of Azle.
Sherri Gross, age 57, born in Cincinnati, Ohio October 15, 1960, passed on May 15, 2018.
Sherri was employed as a civilian by the United States Air Force. She finished her career as a contract negotiator at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, retiring in 2003. Sherri was raised in Heath, Ohio before moving to Fairborn, Ohio where she graduated from Fairborn Baker High School in 1979. She attended Georgetown College and Wright State University, where she earned a degree in communications.
Sherri participated in numerous Toastmasters clubs. She enjoyed sharing her experiences while also connecting to the stories of others. Her passion for Toastmasters led to her involvment in the formation of additional chapters. She earned multiple awards, including Distingquished Toastmaster. Sherri enjoyed social media and was able to make new friends while staying connected with existing friends and family. Sherri had a deep appreciation for those who served our country and regularly sent Veteran’s Day cards to friends, family
members, and new acquaintences who served in the military, as well as her favorite United States Presidents.
Sherri is survived by her parents, Charles and Linda Gross, brother Bob Gross (Jenne), her two nieces, Sarah Joblin and Kassie Gross, and her aunt and uncle Bill and Barbara Gross. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Naomi Craycraft, Zadie and Oscar Gross.
Visitation was held at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia on May 17, 2018. A funeral service was held at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, Georgia on May 18th, 2018, officiated by Reverand Mike Woods and Reverand Alan Davis. Additional services were held at the Richardson Funeral Home, Owingsville, Kentucky on May 20, 2018. Visitation was at 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM, with burial that followed in the Owingsville Cemetery.

Thomas H. Conner died on January 10, 2019 at his home at York Gardens in Edina, MN where he lived with Dot, his wife of 69 years. He was born in 1925 in Chattanooga, Tennessee on land that had been in the family before the civil war. Upon graduation from Chattanooga high school in May of 1943, he went directly into the U.S. Army Air Corps. After some 18 months of flight training, he received his Pilot’s wings and Officer Commission in December, 1944. Further training followed in the B-24 heavy bomber, with WW II winding down during 1945, he was transferred to Alaska for Cold Weather testing duties. After graduating from Northwestern University in June, 1949, he married Dorothy Rhea Prince and they had one son, Thomas Norman (Kristen) Conner.
Surviving are our wonderful grandchildren: Justin Thomas Conner, Clara Ann Conner, William Thomas Conner and Kaitlyn Rose Conner. Mr. Conner served as the vice president, Finance for manufacturing companies in New Castle, PA and in Minneapolis. While in Minneapolis he served as president of the Twin Cities Chapter of Financial Executive International.
He and his wife chose Charlottesville for their retirement home and fell in love with it. Mr. Conner was active in a number of organizations and served as Treasurer of the University of Virginia’s Miller Center Foundation for many years, where he was recognized for outstanding service. He was active with the Sons of the American Revolution and served as Chapter President and as Treasure for a number of years. He served on the Board of a number of Charlottesville service organizations.
Private Memorial was held at a later date, and he was laid to rest in Charlottesville VA.
