“Pioneer Days” by Laura Roark Shropshire (1963)

Forward

“I began this authentic record of our ancestors for the sole benefit of my children that they may know of their ancestors.

Since this was written, more than a decade ago, I have acquired much more knowledge and understanding of our ancestry by continuing in research, reading, correspondence, word of mouth information and study, and I wish it was included, but enough is given to enable us to trace some of our lines.

I have tried to impress not only who our ancestors were but how they lived before we were born. Their lofty, high ideals of life; their principles of truth and justice; their Christian way of life in the world; their great spiritual heritage, – all are an inspiration and a challenge to all ages to come.”
